INKSIDE was founded on the belief that children's books can be more than just stories. As a Polish independent publisher in the UK, we combine an educational approach with care for form and detail, creating books that delight and genuinely support a child's development.
I'm glad you're here.
My name is Paulina Nicgórska and I am the founder of INKSIDE Publishing. I work as an early-years and primary teacher — first in Poland, now in the United Kingdom. I am also a graduate of Maria Montessori pedagogy and educational management, which greatly influences how I create books and materials for children.
I have always felt a need to create things that are beautiful, but above all valuable.
INKSIDE has its roots in Poland, where my passion for working with children, drawing and illustration grew. In Saffron Walden — whose name means 'Saffron Hills' — that path found its continuation and direction.
That is where our paths crossed with Granny Kate, who brought friendship, closeness and the values that build real family stories into this journey. From that need, INKSIDE was born — a Polish independent publisher in the United Kingdom that combines an educational approach with care for form and detail, creating books close to children and their emotions.
Why INKSIDE
The turning point was meeting Granny Kate. Her stories — full of warmth, humour and wisdom — naturally connected with my approach based on empathy, mindfulness and understanding the world of children.
In my work, I see every day how much the stories that reach children matter, how they influence their emotions, ways of thinking and relationships with others. That is why INKSIDE was created. I wanted these stories to live on in a form that is not only beautiful, but also supportive of a child's development.
We create books and products that help children better understand themselves and the world, and give adults tools to build close, meaningful relationships.
In time, INKSIDE will also grow a series of Polish-English books for children growing up between two languages and two cultures. See what we're working on.
